Wanted to share a few of the cookbooks I used this year as, unable to travel to Latin America after March 3, I made as many tacos, empanadas, moquecas & sudados at home as I possibly could

This was my favorite - fabulous book on Mexican cuisine, from restaurant in LA
This mole poblano recipe is the real deal and one of favorite memories of 2020 was my dad coming up & a of us spending hours in kitchen roasting the peppers and nuts and putting it together.
I’ve already written a lot about this book, a triumph of 30+ years of travel & research by the author. The backstories are almost better than the recipes
This book is good guide to making sudado de pescado, ceviche, has some other interesting recipes though the arroz de pato is either wrong or I’m a moron (could be both)
I believe I bought this book PRIOR to moving to Brazil 10 years ago. Truly outstanding beginner’s guide and has one truly genius recipe for caipirinha risotto with salmon and dill
“Brian, don’t you speak Portuguese and Spanish?” Yes, but between the metric conversions & the ingredient lists... anyway, thanks for indulging me here, I wanted to share some of these dishes with you (and hate Instagram). Felices fiestas a todos
