"Narcissistic rage" explains a lot of behavior on this site and in the world at large I think. The explosive response to a challenge to one's grandiosity, to being reminded that one is not in omnipotent control of one's environment or of other people's reactions, etc
Social media simultaneously lets you massively reinforce your sense that your control over your world is unlimited, while sporadically bringing you into direct contact with reminders that it isn't
I don't think this phenomenon is especially confined to clearly diagnosable "narcissists" per se, fwiw. (Honestly, I think I have some mild-ish sense of what it feels like myself, and I don't *think* I fit that description.) Increasingly ubiquitous perhaps
