He had a theory that residential streets with higher numbers of vehicles meant that the people who lived there had fewer human interactions. But was it true?
Well yes. He studied 3 different types of street with light, medium and heavy levels of traffic. He found residents on light traffic streets had 3 times the number of friends on the street than a heavy traffic resident.
So rather than dividing communities, LTNs actually bring them together. If you want to know more, this excellent thread by @LambethLivingSt is well worth a read.
