The UCP think their ideology is more important that the wellbeing and mental health of the people of this province. At every step with COVID-19 they have prioritized their “freedom”/small government ideology over what Albertans need.

Before anyone says “but the economy” - let’s recall that an economy is circulation of resources among people. It relies on the health and confidence of those people. The UCP are not helping the economy, they are relying on outdated disproven rhetoric.

Health care workers. The UCP refusal to act, for months, put massive strain on the system. The UCP lie about them, threaten them with lays off, and accuse them of being a “drain” on the system.

Then schools. The UCP refused to take a single step to decrease class size. So exhausted parent bear the burden of isolating over and over. Trying to home school and work. Because their quality of life is not a relevant factor to the UCP.

Forcing minimum wage bar staff to try and enforce rules with no training. Unclear and confusing rules that cause huge stress for everyone. No idea what rules the future will hold.

The pandemic is putting a strain on everyone. We fear for our loved ones, for our own health.
We miss the little things that made life worthwhile. We worry about the long term impact on our kids.
The stress shrinks our ability to deal with life’s little annoyances.

COVID-19 created the stress, but the UCP chose not to help. Arbitrary stressful benefit system, refuse to release modelling so we understand where we are and can prepare. No sick pay.

The pandemic has shown the UCP ideology for what it is. An irrational failure. Survival of the strongest doesn’t work because we are stronger standing together.
The UCP need to learn that, stop attacking everyone who questions their ideological approach, and lead.
