Really interesting to hear from expert sports cardiologists who are involved in testing athletes post-COVID-19 for rtp. Based on their experience over recent months, the thought process has evolved. For asymptomatic/mild cases, CV risk stratification not necessary. #ACSMATPC
For mild/asymptomatic cases, isolation, no exercise for 10-day minimum suffices.
For moderate/severe illness associated w/COVID-19 or persistent post-illness symptoms, initial CV risk stratification (ECG, troponin, echocardiogram) have consensus support.

If baseline testing abnormal, cardiac MRI may be warranted. Cardiac MRI is not part of an initial evaluation.

1) Specificity of basic cardiac screening is not known (i.e. whether findings are def tied to COVID-19)
2) Graduated exercise/return to play post-COVID is critical. This can help identify any CV issues and impt for conditioning. Mentioned importance of ATC/PT partners. #ACSMATPC
