IK's entire worldview is captured in the Iranian intellectual Jalal Ale Ahmad's concept of "gharbzadegi" or Occidentosis (Westruckness). https://twitter.com/zburki/status/1335232396011171841
Here's the text. It's really a fascinating read that posits cultural authenticity as a solution to the problem of 'elites:' https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwi455GckrftAhXwShUIHWIKAF4QFjAAegQIAxAC&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.brygeog.net%2Fuploads%2F7%2F9%2F8%2F5%2F7985035%2Foccidentosis.pdf&usg=AOvVaw3cRv8KyNYjknBsrWrINLrr
Obviously this can be traced back to people like Iqbal, but Iqbal's philosophy of the self is significantly more complex and Maududi centers the problem of the state, which is not of interest to IK. For IK it's really just moral (and cultural) corruption that matters.
This is probably shortchanging Jalal Ale Ahmad's thesis a bit (haven't read in a while) but IK seems closest to a caricatured version of this.
A very different and interesting reading of the complexity of Jalal Ale Ahmad's thought by @EskandarSadeghi. Don't think such complexity applies to IK. https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/13688790.2020.1834344
