2/ it's quite plausible that total COVID-19 deaths in the US will exceed US combat deaths in all wars since 1775 (666,441, per wikipedia) and deaths from the 1918-19 "Spanish flu" (Kansas Flu) epidemic, 675,000. (more)
3/ The UW model that has been used by the White House and CDC yesterday projected that US COVID-19 deaths will exceed 539,000 by April 2021--most American's will not have been provided access to vaccines by then, and currently 40% of Americans would refuse vaccines if offered.
4/ If clinical deaths from COVID-19 exceed 539,000, the total pandemic deaths above average could be well above 700,000. Pandemics reveal and amplify. Deaths from almost all causes are also up. (more)
5/ By the time CDC closes the books on The Trump Pandemic, it will stand as the largest mass casualty event in American history. The economic and human toil will have been staggering, likely worse in terms of lost careers, business, lives than the 2008-09 GFC...
