I think framing the discourse as anti sex work or “anti slut” is always really damaging
For one it usually privileges OF sex work and accuses others of not knowing what it’s like when in fact a lot of women and queers have to trade financial security for sex and it doesn’t always look as neat as some advocates want to believe
As well sex workers have diverse opinions on sex work but we’re constantly told if you don’t agree with a famous elevated sex worker that you’re either brainwashed ashamed or not a real sex worker
Our ability to actually listen and support sex workers is heavily skewed towards white conventionally pretty and with a platform and that doesn’t get acknowledged when ppl say if you disagree with this person you’re anti sex work
I do believe sex work is work but the way we try to frame it as wage labor to make it understandable who gets to talk about it is not acknowledging it’s inequalities the things that sex workers say and mostly we are listening to what’s palatable to non sex workers and customers
