I want to write an article on the role of @SEAC_Defence in defence. I want it to avoid becoming personal. MH campaigning is important, but few of us have the ability to be at the prevention end rather than the cure. SEAC is perfectly placed to tackle soldiers issues that can
become much more damaging long term. Scoff is shit at some camps - there is no other way to put it. So when a bloke starts living on takeaways and pot noodles, starts loosing his PT, has constant mood swings from poor diet, fails that career course, then misses that posting
surely focusing on the causes of MH issues (within defences control) must be a priority. Not only will this go along way as being seen to be doing something but everyone knows "basics done well" leads to success in other areas. I downloaded SEAC tweet history and scoff was
mentioned once in the past 3k + tweets - and it was to tweet "Can't believe i went to an RAF dinner and the padre made me serve him scoff". The SEAC role is to "bring the perspective of the Warrant Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and Junior Ranks"
Another key bit of Data is how AHQ / Whitehall heavy the SEAC engagement is. How can someone who has the incredibly rewarding role of looking after our soldiers not be engaging more with them?
I'm gonna end on this note - ask yourself honestly if you lined up 100 juniors and asked them has having a SEAC improved your work life? Has it improved "the offer"
I DO NOT want this to be a pile on. happy to listen to everyone here.
