We're recreating our first ever date (2 years ago yesterday) #lockdown style.
We got dressed up a bit nice (minus Scumm wearing comfy joggers because y'know, post op.)

It started off with lunch from a local noodle bar that we both adored where he judged me for asking for a little sugar for my green tea.
The miso soup there in incredible.

First time I had my favourite dish: Yaki Udon but since I now try to make some kind of effort to curb my intolerances I had the combo meal: duck, pork & pork belly. Scumm had the same but with noodles.

Next, we had a little time still before our cinema showing so we visited an independent cafe for a coffee and some cake (they had vegan/gf options for me) however none of our local indies deliver so @kaspasdesserts had to fill in for this one. (But I've been naughty.)

Then, the thing that set the date. We went to the cinema to watch Wreck-it-Ralph 2 which had just come out and I judged Scumm for inhaling popcorn.

Today we're going to finally get around to watching Ready Player One which is similarly nerdy.

Wrong.
Neither of us were ready to go home (good sign?

So we headed to a pub on the waterfront we knew about for some drinks - he was on his trademark blackcurrant and sodas (he's got cream soda tonight) and I had a flavoured gin.

Finally teaching him Odin's Ravens by @OspreyGames and playing some Surakarta which we picked up in Esslingen Christmas Market this time last year.

Plus Sushi Go Dice which I bought him last Christmas Eve - we adopted the tradition of buying each other a tabletop game and playing them the night before Christmas.

Finally, it got late so we went to this "great place he knew" nearby, except it changed hands and served .. pretty crap food but had Jenga and table tennis.
This time we thought we'd enjoy our mutual favourite: #sushi!
