But it goes beyond that. Low-code platforms require a bit of code integration, whereas no-code applications are usually described as cloud solutions that you can get started with instantly without any programming knowledge.
It enables all departments across a company to make use of data much more efficiently, without needing developers to build custom proprietary software.
Gartner, a research firm, estimated that low-code application development will account for 65% of all application development activity by 2024.
This enables citizen developers to shift their work from commodity programming tasks to unique, complex engineering tasks with a much larger impact & value for the organization.
But there are risks: a potential vendor lock-in when building on top of a LCNC platforms can be costly when it no longer serves your advanced requirements or goes out of business. Hence why the choice of a platform must be a well-considered decision
