ok here's a quick and dirty way to come up with a half decent colour palette without trying too hard. I normally do something like this if I'm really pushed for time:

1 / 8
Open photoshop or procreate or whatever (doesn't matter)
2 / 8
Choose three colours that are:
a. different from each other
b. mid-tone(ish); not too light and not too dark

I've picked ones that I hate to show how it doesn't really matter
3 / 8
Use the 'multiply' blend mode and put them on top of each other
4 / 8
Choose a fourth colour that's very light but *not* white
5 / 8
Use multiply again to lay this on top of what you already have, including the overlaps if you want
6 / 8
Use the colour picker to sample each unique colour once.
Note: more saturated colours will have a bigger influence on the whole palette (like that terrible green)
7 / 8
That's it, that's your palette!
At the very least you'll probably end up with a set of colours that work *together*, hopefully with enough variety to draw a picture.

draw a masterpiece with your lazy colours
