ok here's a quick and dirty way to come up with a half decent colour palette without trying too hard. I normally do something like this if I'm really pushed for time:

Choose three colours that are:
a. different from each other
b. mid-tone(ish); not too light and not too dark
I've picked ones that I hate to show how it doesn't really matter

Use multiply again to lay this on top of what you already have, including the overlaps if you want

Use the colour picker to sample each unique colour once.
Note: more saturated colours will have a bigger influence on the whole palette (like that terrible green)

That's it, that's your palette!
At the very least you'll probably end up with a set of colours that work *together*, hopefully with enough variety to draw a picture.
