Hi, it is me, your local "I had a mild covid case in March and recovered in < a week" friend here to remind you that:
a) I still get out of breath climbing a flight of stairs. b) I now have the memory of a goldfish. c) I haven't fully recovered my sense of smell.

Every time I see people point to the recovery rate as a reason to not take this virus seriously I want to shake people. Ignoring the fact that you're shrugging off the deaths of hundreds of millions of people, we still don't know the full lasting effects for those who recovered.
And if those symptoms and whatever underlying issues they might eventually indicate aren't enough for you, might I also remind you that my hair was falling out for more than six months after I recovered? Maybe your vanity is what will convince you, if nothing else will.
The only thing I want to promote is wearing a mask and social distancing/staying home whenever possible.
