The focus upon Advent is a biblically informed and much-needed protest against the nostalgic, materialistic, sanitized Christmas Industrial Complex in our culture. Christmas marks the culmination of a season of intentional longing for the once and future King of creation. 2/
An earlier generation of evangelicals talked about the importance of living in light of the Second Coming. Celebrating Advent is doing just that. Come (back) thou long-expected Jesus. 3/
