When the NATO member states implement arms embargo on Turkey over F-35 and other advanced parts of drone technology, Turkey stepped up against Russia and helped Ukraine that was left alone by EU & NATO and provided arms and embarked technological cooperation with Kyiv.
When NATO was remotely watching the Russian expansionism in Black Sea, reaching its peak with the invasion of Crimea, Turkey increased its presence in Black Sea and has decided to supply Ukraine its national built ship Milgem and TB2 drones to deter the further Russian threat.
When Russia strolls around conveniently in Caucasus and in former Soviet Republics, Turkey stood in front of Russia in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and stopped a further expansion that would threaten the European natural gas supply chain.

Even under these circumstances, Greece and some other EU member states have the audacity to raise the issue of imposing sanctions on Turkey, when the country is defending its legitimate sovereign and sovereignty rights as the bastion of NATO in Southeastern Europe
Some CAATSA apologists & US politicians/lobbyists still argue that new sanctions to be imposed where essentially many are already in effect. Further alienating Turkey by sanctions would just escalate the risk of conflicts & serve as an absolute madness on behalf of EU and NATO.
In summary, if EU and NATO are ready to face the immediate Russian threat embellished with a lot of conflicts, then it is advisable to impose sanctions on Turkey, but if NATO mandate really calls Russia a threat, then they should revise the attitude towards Turkey.
