Sattaimuni Siddhar is said to be born in a Tamil speaking family in Sri Lanka. His parents worked in farm and himself lived life as a mendicant in front of temple. He left his family life to be a Seeker and travelled extensively, +

@HelloNNewman @RajiIndustani @chittukuruvi4
+ accumulating knowledge as he moved from place to place. Finally, a Guru answered the call of this Seeker, that Guru being Siddhar Bogar.

As I covered in this thread ( https://twitter.com/almightykarthik/status/1312354902039916544?s=20) Bogar Siddhar was one of the greatest Alchemist.

Naturally, Sattaimuni Siddhar learned finer nuances of chemistry from Bogar Siddhar. With his ingenuity, he started transmuting base metals to higher level and creating Muppu (universal salt) as well as Mercury pills. As a Shishya of Bogar Siddhar, +

@unever_followme @shri_v
+ he also connected with Siddhar Karuvoorar and Siddhar Konganar. Apart from Bogar Siddhar, it is said that he also was initiated by one of the revered Siddhar – Agastyar.

Sattaimuni Siddhar’s work in anthropology is very significant and is considered one of the vital & finest work amongst other Siddhar works. Siddhars are usually known to write their knowledge in ‘Sandhya Basha’ – it renders the writing useless unless one is +

@RapperPandit
+ initiated into the tradition. This was to ensure that the knowledge is passed on to right recipients. Sattaimuni Siddhar was an exception to this, his writing style was simple and direct, which is easy for even a layman to understand.

It’s said that Siddhar Thirumoolar was angered by Sattaimuni’s writings and even tore off one of his works. However, Sattaimuni Siddhar accepted it as another act of Shiva himself.

There’s an interesting story of how he got his name ‘Sattaimuni’.

@hathyogi31 @Elf_of_Shiva_
It’s a little-known fact that many of the Siddhars are ardent worshippers of Bhagwan Siva. It is said that Bhagwan Shiva Himself presented him a woollen shirt (Kambali Sattai) on his visit to Kailasa. It is because of this, he came to be known as ‘Kailaaya Sattai Muni’.
Sattaimuni Siddhar’s work on Siddha medicine especially focusing on rejuvenation process is well known and his work “Sattaimuni Karpam -100” is followed by many even now. Also, his works on – Muppu and Kaya Karpam is of major importance.

As an accomplished Siddha his understand as well as mastery over life were extraordinary. The below theory of Sattaimuni Siddhar is of significance in Siddha Medicine circles:

@LevinaNeythiri @Mahadevangini @Tanvangi17
"Andatthil ullathe pindam Pindatthil ullathe andam"
"Andamum pindamum ondre Arinthuthaan paarkkum pothe"
- Sattaimuni gnanam

Meaning: “Man is said to be the Microcosm and the Universe is said to be the Macrocosm;
@Itishree001
because the elements in the universe exists in Man too; or in the other words, There is nothing in the Macrocosm of nature that is not present in Man. So man must be looked upon as an integral part of universal nature and not as anything separate or different from the later.
As many other Sidddhars, Sattaimuni Siddhar’s literary work focused on Anthropology, Medicine, Alchemy. Below are the works of Sattaimuni Siddhar:

sattaimuni nigandu 1200 (சட்டைமுனி நிகண்டு 1200)
sattaimuni vaatha kaaviyam 1000 (சட்டைமுனி வாதகாவியம் 1000)

@Anshulspiritual
sattaimuni sarakku vaippu 500 (சட்டைமுனி சரக்குவைப்பு 500)
sattaimuni navarathina vaippu 500 (சட்டைமுனி நவரத்தினவைப்பு 500)
sattaimuni vagadam 200 (சட்டைமுனி வாகடம் 200)
sattaimuni munpin gnanam 200 (சட்டைமுனி முன்ஞானம் பின்ஞானம் 200)
sattaimuni karppam 100 (சட்டைமுனி கற்பம் 100)
sattaimuni unmai vilakkam 51 (சட்டைமுனி உண்மைவிளக்கம் 51)

Sattaimuni Siddhar attained Samadhi in Sri Rangam, Trichy. There’s an interesting story related to Sattaimuni Siddhar’s bhakti towards Narayana. Once Sattaimuni Siddhar reached Thiruvarangam or Sri Rangam +

@mayfair1958
+ to have darshan of ‘Aranganathar’ - presiding deity of Thiruvarangam. However, by the time Siddhar reached the temple, the doors were closed. Sattaimuni Siddhar went into a trance and chanted Bhagwan’s name thrice – Aranga! Aranga! Aranga!

@LostTemple7 @Lost_History1
The temple bells chimed, and the door opened to receive Sattaimuni Siddhar.

When people reached the temple, they saw temple door wide open and Sattaimuni Siddhar standing nearby deity wearing he Jewels that adore the Moolavar.

@Nidhi7007 @nitish_tanha @AnkitaBnsl
The public & priests were suspicious and they at once removed the Jewels. They also took Sattaimuni Siddhar to King’s court, upon inquiry Sattaimuni Siddhar said ‘this is all but an act of Bhagwan’. When the King refused to believe it, Sattaimuni Siddhar asked him and others +
+ to accompany him to temple. Once again, upon reaching temple, Sattaimuni Siddhar went into a trance and thrice chanted Bhagwan’s name - Aranga! Aranga! Aranga!

The events repeated as before – the bells chimed, and the door flew open.
When Sattaimuni Siddhar reached Moolavar, the jewels adorning Bhagwan fell on Sattaimuni Siddhar. That is when the people and King realised the greatness of Sattaimuni Siddhar. Such was Sattaimuni Siddhars bhakti towards Bhagwan, +

@Bhaktirassagar
it is believed that he merged in to Aranganathar, making Sri Rangam as his Samadhi place.

I enjoy bringing to fore about our great Siddhars and their stories. Hope you also enjoyed and knowing about them. Till next time, see you & take care! 🙂🙏
