2) First, in their Polish cohort, it was mostly unknown metabolites that showed the biggest differences between ME/CFS patients and controls, suggesting a need to use untargeted approaches.
3) Second, they also looked at metabolites following an exercise program.
They found that a structured exercise programme does not make the metabolites of ME/CFS subjects look more like controls. In fact, it's just the opposite: it makes them more different.

4) The group is also hoping to do more Raman spectroscopy to compare blood cells from ME/CFS patients and healthy and fatigue controls.
