Breaking into VC...

18 months ago, I knew nobody in VC. I now run a community of 450 VC's - this is what we have learnt as a community of how to break into Venture 👇
1. Find a tech area you can talk about - write about it which will allow you to start building a personal brand. Become a leading thought leader in the space
2. Engage on socials, start building a following. Twitter is recommended
3. Provide ideas to VC portfolio companies
4. Connect with analysts / associates through socials, university or founder networks
5. Scout programs - a couple of VC's run these
6. Podcast - Invite VC's onto your show
7. Ask for intros, people in tech are happy to help one another out - be incredibly kind along the way
8. Start a sector focused tech community. If your community becomes incredibly valuable - founders / VC's will buy into it (and you). Become the most valuable asset

9. Learn from fellow aspiring VC's - keep one another posted on opportunities
It takes time but be persistent.

The ecosystem is very small - you will meet a number of founders & investors reasonably quickly!
Skills to learn:

- Conviction - how can you win the founders over
- Communication & networking - how can you build amazing relationships with the founders
- Analytical thinking

Be as valuable as you can, every step of the way. This will create opportunities!
