Kanye West’s top 10 verses (A thread)

Making this since people love to forget just how talented a rapper Mr. West is...
10. All Day -A rarely talked about/overlooked track where Kanye demonstrates a relentless ear worm flow, great cadence, quotable bars, the whole package.

Fav line: “Late for the class in the hallways nigga, yeah the dropout at it as always nigga”
9. Clique - Kanye destroyed this track, notably outrapping Hov and Sean by a country mile. It perfectly encapsulates everything that makes his rapping great: his chaotic, hilarious, & mystifying personality.

Fav line: Can’t choose between the Kim K/Taylor Swift/Spike Lee line 💀
8. Gone - It’s the way you’d think he got showed up by Cam’ron and Consequence before coming back for the last leg of this track to deliver a stunning verse that makes it stand out.

Fav line: “I’m ahead of my time, sometimes years out” - is this not repeatedly proven true?
7. Kids See Ghosts - His best verse post-TLOP, chilling & explores his mind

Fav lines: “Don't like bein' questioned & don't like bein' less than any a competition in any of my professions
So I gotta guess then, gotta stay the best man, what else you expect from uh, Mr. West man?
6. Can’t Tell Me Nothing - Not Ye’s most lyrically impressive verse but definitely his most magnetic. A classic in every way.

Fav lines: “I’m just saying how I feel man, I ain’t one of the Cosby’s I ain’t go to Hillman”
5. Last Call - IMO, this is the best verse off of TCD, for many reasons.

Fav lines: "Oh my god, is that a black card?"
I turned around and replied, "Why yes
But I prefer the term African American Express"
4. No More Parties in LA - I don’t need to talk about the actual verse, anyone who’s heard it knows how mind-blowing and extensive it is. What makes it especially impressive is the fact Kanye wrote its nearly 100 bars in a rush, on a plane.

Fav line: Way too many to choose from.
3. Diamonds From Sierra Leone - Explosive, frenetic, and above all, entertaining.

Fav lines: “Big K pick up where young Hov left off
Right when magazines wrote Kanye West off
I dropped my new shit, it sound like ‘the best of’
A&R's lookin' like, "Pssh, we messed up."”
2. Power Remix - Unmatched as Kanye’s most ballistic spaz/shutdown ever

Fav lines: “I be feeling like Jordan when I’m recording, cause every time I record, I dunk and slap the boards
I don’t know what these rappers gonna do afterwards
Prolly spaz like I might do at the awards”
1. Gorgeous - Kanye’s most lyrically complex, socially conscious, and riveting set of bars ever are present in all 3 verses here.

Fav line/His best line of all time - “And what's a Black Beatle anyway, a fuckin' roach?
I guess that's why they got me sitting in fuckin' coach”
In conclusion, while it’s no secret that Kanye is a better producer than a rapper, he’s outrapped Jay-Z at least 5 separate times, bodied Kendrick, holds his own with emcee legends like Mos Def/Common/Raekwon, & completely shreds tracks when he needs to.
Kanye’s style in pure rapping is characterized by his cheeky sense of humor, witty bars, and occasional introspection. He’s very unique and should be in your top 20 rappers oat at least.

In overall artistry he’s top 2 and he ain’t number 2 😃👍
