Rethinking tonights game after reading @SeunMobolaji 's analysis...

I'm going to go completely against the grain and say Werner should NOT start https://twitter.com/RuLoCheeks/status/1334755364676411394
There are 2 things key to beating Leeds' intense press and creating chances:
1) getting into 1v1 situations and getting past their markers
2) playing behind their highline and getting on the ball in open space

Werner is incredibly useful for the 2nd, but useless at the first.

There are 2 primary ways to get into good 1v1 positions:
1) playing out the back effectively, drawing players out of position, and finding someone in space (see Havertz for 1st goal v Sevilla)
2) bypassing the press by playing to a target man, who can bring the ball down for players around him

Unfortunately Werner is useless in these 2 scenarios.

His linkup is poor (especially at LW), and he is not useful in the air.f
Furthermore, he is not a strong 1v1 dribbler, so if we manage to isolate him against defenders, he won't be effective.

The match will be cagey, especially at the start, and it will be vital to have the right character of player immediately.
Giroud as a target man is most effective. He can win the high balls easily (especially as Leeds' defence is not serially strong), and his ground linkup is also very good. Thus he will do brilliantly at putting players into 1v1 situations

There are 2 players we want in 1v1 plays:
Pulisic and Havertz, prob our two most effective dribblers (along with CHO). Ziyech is not a strong dribbler, however he will def start as his creativity is unmatched and will be vital. Thus we need to make sure we balance this with good dribblers - ie Puli and Havertz, not Timo
Puli and Havertz must start in order to drive at Leeds' defence, beat them 1v1, and open up gaps and goal-scoring opportunities. Giroud must start to bring them into the game effectively.
In the second half, once more gaps open on the pitch, Werner would be a perfect substitute to take advantage of this and get in behind Leeds' defence.
