Kyrie Irving donated 1.5 million to WNBA players who opted out of the bubble this year, 323K to Feeding America, and partnered with an NYC charity to provide 250K meals. Maybe let’s not have a referendum on his character because he doesn’t want to talk to beat writers.
Look at how bad the Boston media trounced him on his way out of town. A Warriors writer got a whole book out of feuding with Kyrie’s friend KD. I still think Kyrie should talk to reporters, but let’s not pretend this is coming out of nowhere.
I think the dual experience of playing with LeBron James, who essentially has his own team of publicists at ESPN, and then in Boston probably soured Kyrie on the idea that NBA reporting is objective journalism.
