Here’s why I’d rather take hitting that field goal against the Eagles in the WC game & winning the super bowl in 07 over drafting Mahomes:
to start, you have to think of this at a bears perspective as to who we have as a coach and a GM. Along with the roster we have.
yes, I do think he would have more success than Trubisky. But no, I do not think Patrick Mahomes makes the same impact he does on the Chiefs if he were to get drafted to the Bears.
Also want to touch base on the fact that the Bears O Line is terrible. To be fair, they weren’t as bad in 2018 and had a couple dudes make the pro bowl, but If mahomes were in the same situation I don’t see them making a change with the O line since even after the 2019
season Pace didn’t change much.. other than a new coach. I can’t imagine Mahomes behind this offensive line especially in the year 2020, it’s to the point where we can’t even rely on our run game.
Some people forget what kind of talent Mahomes has on this offense with Travis Kelce & Tyreek Hill, and not to mention ANDY REID. Most successful offensive system to be under... I do understand Nagy came from that system
but, he’s never had success with this offense... even in 2018 it was just an average offense and he stood behind an AMAZING DEFENSE one of the best in the league, which is why we were successful in 2018.
Some might say oh well he had trubisky, that’s why he wasn’t successful in 2018, but trubisky made a pretty big improvement from 2017 to 2018, many of us didn’t expect him to completely fall off in 2019.
I can go on and on if y’all need me to but I think I’ve touched most points
Oh also forgot, bears never had success with good QBs in our franchise... we were always known for our defense. I just know the bears would find a way to ruin mahomes
