It's clear that the poor and the middle class migrate from India in search of a better life. But I have always wondered why the rich are so keen to move abroad. https://twitter.com/vadakkus/status/1334978718196895745
A rich kid has an immeasurably better life here than abroad - security, social status and someone to take care of their every wish. The same kid moves to New York to live in a tiny apartment and, for the first time in their life, has to cook, clean, shop and take public transport
A close relative of mine gave up a thriving corporate career to emigrate to the US in his late 40s. The multinational corp VP/bank officer couple took up jobs as grocery cashiers to lead a decidedly middle-class life in flyover country in America.
He has no regrets. To him, the emigration freed his family from the daily friction of life in India - corruption, filth, bad air, ever-changing rules, lack of trust. The rich are not protected from them.
There are some things money can buy; for everything else, you must emigrate
