Why have I not met more plus size women in academia? I consider myself to be on the smaller end of the plus size spectrum (I’m a size 14, for reference) and I still feel like I’m the biggest woman I know. Doesn’t bother me (most of the time) but I notice.

Also wanna say that I acknowledge my privilege of being a size 14 as opposed to like a 20/22+. Those folks have it way harder and that’s infinitely fucked up. Often times It’s semi-ok to be ‘curvy’ but never ok to be ‘fat.’ I mean that’s all subjective but I think y’all feel me
