Jalen Suggs acceleration & burst on display, particularly impressive how he has the presence of mind to set up the ballscreen precariously & choose the right moment to turn on the jets. He gets a consistent diet of straight line drives, indicative of athleticism & scheme benefits
here’s Suggs picking out a cutter in a tight window with zip & decisiveness on the ball, and him having real vision and manifesting it consistently on & off ball is crucial given he lacks the counters/offensive versatility to be a true primary creator right now
it’s understandable given his two way workload & the fact that Gonzaga asks him to play point of attack defense constantly, but Jalen often starts in a very conservative position like this which will give up pullup 3s/leave him vulnerable to physical drives bc he cant rim protect
other ppl have pointed out that Suggs will feast on handoffs, and this play is representative of that idea: he can use his shooting gravity & arsenal of triple threat moves in conjunction with explosiveness to regularly win in an additive, complementary fashion

another PnR possession versus a similar but more conservative coverage, and notice how on both of these he made the correct read with fantastic execution but picked the ball up early - the margin for this error will be erased in the league and threading live dribble passes is !!!
another useful play to look at Jalen Suggs tendencies: prioritizes stopping downhill heads of steam but leaves him susceptible to pull ups, and he uses this change of pace/sudden acceleration & shoulder drop a lot. Perfect timing & composure at high speed to execute the dump off
