This is not normal... It is not normal that almost 3,000 people are unnecessarily dying a day. It is not normal that people feel they are being inconvenienced by mask and social distancing regulations in order to keep themselves, loved ones and strangers safe.
It is not normal for a government to sit idly by while a pandemic destroys its own county. It is not normal for elected officials to encourage ignorance and social defiance because science hurts their feelings.
It’s not normal that the defense act hasn’t been in full force over the past few months, ramping up production of PPE. Planning and coordination to prepare for the inevitable shortages of supplies, hospital beds and first responses due to pretending the virus will go away.
It is not normal to fight harder to protect monuments and confederate statues than you fight to protect human beings. It’s not normal that a black hand gun has more rights than a black man. It’s not normal that an embryo is more regulated than a bullet.
It’s not normal to throw parades, national holidays to pretend to show thanks, and respect for the military when 40,000 veterans are homeless, 500,000 veterans rely on meals on wheels, SNAP and Medicaid.
It’s not normal that the same politicians that write laws to incarcerate and stigmatize drug abuse, are the same ones lining their pockets with big pharma donations.
Its not normal that we invest more in the stock market than we do in human lives. It’s not normal that we lowered our standards for the office of the presidency because Trump refused to raise his.
It is not normal to pretend you’re fighting and protecting democracy when in reality you’re fighting to create dictatorship. It’s not normal to spread conspiracies, feed off chaos to feed your ego.
It’s not normal to call America the greatest country in the world, when it’s just barely mediocre. Don’t normalize it because it’s NOT.
