This one is going out to all you law students who are, tragically, reading Twitter on a Friday night because you are at your computer and you are studying for finals. A thread, because I realize that I forgot to tell my 1Ls something important the last day: I hated law school.
I mean, almost dropped out after my first year hated law school. Could not for the life of me remember why I decided to go to law school hated law school.
I worked at a public defender office after my first year (after finding an apartment in another state and starting a non-law job hunt), and . . . well, I loved that. Even though mostly what the public defender office was doing was sending me to interview witnesses.
I ended up coming back, and doing what I needed to get through, but I spent most of my time either working on my note or doing things for my clinic. The irony of the fact that I am now *trapped forever in law school* is not lost on me.
I try to make my classes not be the things I hated about law school. But if you are a law student (even my law student!), and you are out there, wondering, what am I even doing, I am telling you, you can hate law school and be a great lawyer.
