This didn't make my piece but Fincher hired Maurice LaMarche -- premier Orson Welles impersonator and the voice of the Brain from "Pinky & the Brain" -- to read every line of Welles' dialogue in MANK, and they gave a recording to Tom Burke to help shape his performance
Fincher told me: "Maurice really understands Welles’ way of breathing"
Wish my favorite movies podcast had invited me on to talk Fincher, I was keeping this little tidbit in my pocket for them along with a good Brad Pitt quote I didn't use AND @jeffbercovici loaned me a very pro-grade podcasting mic but 😞
