Exactly 8 months ago this afternoon I landed in NYC and was in the ICU treating covid patients within a few hours. Now 8 months & 3 cities later it's been a very long, lonely, traumatic, strenuous & painful ordeal. When I left I fully expected to be back home within 6 weeks or
so. I have been home 3 times for a total of 7 days since April 4th. The last time I went home was in late July when I was able to get 3 straight nights off. Although, it has been by far the hardest 8 months of my life both mentally & physically. I have never and will never
2nd guess my decision to do what I can to help others during this horrific time. I love helping people. My only regrets are not being able to help way too many patients along the way. Or knowing the right words to say to their grief stricken families.
Now you know a little more about my journey. For those who read my whole thread. I thank you & hope I didn't bore you too much.
