"brown" is far too elastic to ever function as the ethnic marker people pretend it does.

what is "brown"? some will speak of south asian communities. some will speak of the whoooooole latin diaspora.

"brown" is just a catch-all for non-white non-blackness. that's all.
and when you admit that "brown" is all you have and you feel lost without it despite the fact that "brown" means nothing, you're admitting that nonblack people of color are as defined by their lack of blackness as white people / whiteness. so what's y'all's next move? 🤔
(anti)blackness is how everyone else knows their place. how is it that y'all think "browness" can be salvaged if you're allegedly combatting antiblackness in your "brown" communities?
