Also, a point of contention with phrasing I see a lot, and it’s mentioned here: schools have never been *closed.* School buildings, yes, but just as churches continued being open virtually, so have schools.
It is possible to lament schools being virtual and also understand the need/reason for schools to be virtual. It’s not an either/or, it’s a both/and. It’s a complicated issue with many, many layers to consider. Have grace for decision makers here. It’s not easy.
