I don't trust Marxists who say religion will "wither away." Personal beliefs & faith will always exist, no matter the material conditions & how far you've made it into Communism. Organized institutions that give way to exploitation will be no more but faith in God? Why not?!
I'm not even religious but if your criticism of religion consists of saying it distracts from class struggle/is false consciousness, what about post-class abolition? What if I want to wear a crucifix then? Just because I'm a free human being, doesn't mean "spirituality" will die.
I find most Marxist criticisms of religion very flimsy & unrealistic. I dont see a reason for faith "withering away" just because labor has become directly social. There will probably be more atheists but I don't think there are "material conditions" for "complete atheism" or w/e
