1/ 70% of the @Pulleyhq team has previously started a company. We are a team of entrepreneurs building for founders.

How did we get so many prior founders to join someone else's company instead of starting their own?

We are explicit about how we work👇
2/ We have a clear north star: Build for founders.

Entrepreneurs have deep respect for other entrepreneurs because they know how hard it is to start a company.

Our culture and product is rooted in our reverence for founders. Previous and aspiring founders are drawn to this.
3/ We are not a family. We are a world class team, purpose built to win. Most founder-types do not want a 2nd family, they want to excel.

We push each other to improve. We own our mistakes so we can avoid making same mistake twice. We celebrate our joint success as a team.
4/ We are a no ego team because product-market fit does not care about anyone's ego. Founders crave finding product-market fit.

We are a flat organization, do not have titles, and keep functional boundaries blurry. This creates messiness. But entrepreneurs thrive on messiness.
5/ We hire for slope, not y-intercept. We value raw intellectual horsepower, ability, and output above credentials.

Like most of the lasting companies of the last 100 years, we want the leaders at Pulley to grow from within the org.
6/ We give exceptional people unparalleled autonomy and responsibility. We screen for the founder mindset of being able to ruthlessly prioritize and make good decisions with limited data and time.

This is our definition of the 10x engineer:

7/ We move swiftly and deliberately. We ship code daily.

We've been that founder, anxious about paying the bills. If a founder needs our help urgently, we will work nights / weekends to help them.

Our pace is not for everyone. But founders often thrive here.
8/ We chose investors who are also founders - @eladgil, @avichal, @kloughlin, @lindaxie, lripsher, the @stripe team, and more.

Our founder-investors are an extension of our founder-centric team.
