1/ I'll say this, to everyone buying digital albums (mine & others) on Bandcamp today, thank you. I'm not living under a delusion that Spotify goes away, and my music will essentially be free there for all. So your support actively pushes towards a world where we can thrive...

2/ in spite of those systems being in place. A Tech CEO would never EVER try to consider and support a system to places the artists rights and survival at the forefront of their operation, because it simply asks too much of the fictional "consumer"

3/ and that in turn strips away our humanity as artists. But when you actually pay when you don't have to, you're allowing us to be human again, and you're making yourself known as real to us too. I have a million streams of a song of mine on Spotify and those people aren't real

4/ Passive listeners is not of interest to me, passivity is not how you forge relationships and make the world more bearable and special. So if you're taking an action today, know that artists notice you and are grateful for you. We can make this look possible.
