When they said - if you build it, they will come - I imagine restaurant owners assumed the City meant customers and not construction and fire officials.
These notices are on parklets across the City - structures owners put up after being encouraged to do so by City officials.
Any structure that’s not safe should of course be addressed but owners have expended valuable resources to make parklets an option for safer dining - again, with prompting from the City.
To cite businesses without (from my understanding) much of an explanation - on a Friday during the holiday season - seems unnecessary. If the City wants to ensure these structures meet all relevant codes it should do so by working with small biz owners.
