Well, I’m about 10 weeks in at @EDELgolf now and I’m as excited as ever. We just finished building out some sales forecast scenarios for next year and things are looking really good. Here are a couple observations thus far about my experience (thread): 1....
1. Small company vs big company: I’ve worked at a couple different small businesses and a rather large golf company now and the thing i love about small biz is being stretched to learn so many aspects of the business and having to execute or figure out how to get things done.
Everyone plays a major role and people can’t hide like they can in a large company.

2. Ownership makes the difference: having a trusting, understanding and strategic ownership is crucial for employee confidence, morale and the ability to execute against a long range plan...
Otherwise you end up playing whack-a-mole with your initiatives.

3. The talent here is really good. @NeilOster is an incredibly talented product guy (and more). Having been side by side with David Edel through this journey Neil’s vast knowledge in club making is impressive...
From our Ops team to the sales support team, everyone has a love for the game that is really cool to see. It’s not just a job to any of them.

4. Like most industries, golf is a relationship game, but it always seems like it’s more important in this industry bc you have so...
Many career golf folks. It’s been fun to have been welcomed back by so many great people from all aspects of the business.

5. David’s knowledge: this guy is unquestionably one of the smartest guys in golf. It’s not just his knowledge of the swing...
but his curiosity is the thing that impressed me most so far. He’s a creator to the fullest. He’s always looking to learn and find a better way to approach the game of golf. Check out our podcasts and YouTube channel. I guarantee you will learn something...
6. Finally, this company is in a really good position for success moving forward. Based in fitting and working from the golfer outward instead of the just looking for the next claim, the products we have are truly tailored for the golfer to get better...
If you look at our EAS putter fitting system, it’s not the most cost effective way to go about selling golf clubs, but the integrity of the fit is second to none. I told David at dinner a few weeks ago, that he has really gone after this biz the hard way...
And his simple answer is that it’s the right way for the golfer to get better. That integrity/belief system is so important to what we’re doing and frankly, refreshing.

Finally, finally...we’re going to make some news this next year with some new products...
There are only so many occasions to change a category and how clubs are made within it with the launch of a new product. In this industry you’ll see fast followers very quickly when you’re able to make ones of these demonstrably superior leaps...
We will do that next year. I cant wait to share what the team has come up with because it truly is a game changing technology and @EDELgolf is going to be on the map in a big way.
