I know most Jewish people would be disgusted to hear anyone describing the terrible suffering deliberately inflicted on Bosnians in 1995, Tutsis in 1994, Jews and Gypsies in the 1930s/40s, Armenians in 1915, west Africans from the 1600s, as a ‘lie’, a “made up story”.
This week @BoardofDeputies gave a platform to someone who described the Nakba, the ethnic cleansing of 100s of 1000s of Palestinians in 1948, as an “Arab lie”, a “made up story”. Just weeks after they gave platform to the Queen of the hostile environment, Priti Patel.
It was the new Israeli ambassador. In the light of this, why would anyone eg @Keir_Starmer or @AngelaRayner , take seriously any Board of Deputies pronouncements on racism, especially when they attack those who have been fighting racism and fascism their whole lives?
