Since the "influencers reaching out to industry" topic is hot again, here's a thread with my thoughts

- Get my name right. I'm not Katrina, Christine or Karen. Respect goes a long way.
- Have a brief description and deck ready, what is it that you do? How do you stand out?

- Do research about the game you're applying for, does it fit you? What content do you want to make with it?
- No means no, trying to bypass me and hoping to get a code from a different colleague doesn't work, we do talk.
- ALWAYS have your contact info/e-mail visible everywhere

- Embargoes are there for a reason, follow them on the dot. Taking some extra time to read the info I provide in an e-mail shows you care and take this seriously.
- Always follow up with the content you produced from the game, whether it's videos, streams or a review.

- Please don't berate yourself with talk like 'I'm a small streamer/I don't deserve this'. I don't always neccessarily look for gigantic concurrent viewership, but uniqueness or the quality of your content.
- Better to ask too much than not at all, if something is unclear.

- Can't tell you how many times I've had people ask for codes, I check their YT/Twitch, and they haven't made content in *years*. Make sure that you are regularly producing content, lol.
- Use your main e-mail for outreach. Influencer impersonation is real, people want your codes

Think that's some of the basics and the things I look for the most.
Happy to answer any questions for anyone who's curious about the best/worst practices for reaching out to companies. But do remember that each CM/IM has their own preferences and things they look for too.
