Happy Friday! Last Fall, we gave away a woodstove to a lucky Vermonter. To win she provided a creative name for her new wood stove. We recently interviewed the owner of this beautiful and efficient wood stove, named Stovey McPipes! #Vermont🧵
Q: Are you happy with the name Stovey McPipes?
A: Yes! We're on a first-name basis now, though... just "Stovey." Unless it gives us trouble (the fire went out!), in which case we address it by its full name.
Q:With the LONG winter ahead (and likely a whole lot of time at home) do you think you'll begin talking with your woodstove?
A: Oh, it's already started happening. It's now a fourth member of the household.
Q: Which celebrity's voice would it have?
A: Without question: SIR @IanMcKellen.
Q: Who loves the wood stove more, you or your dog?
A: The dog, no question - but I'm a close second. We spend a lot of time cuddled up in front of the fire together.
Q: Your dog is adorable, tell us more about her!
A: She is Kelsey, the almost-8 “Weiner Beagle.” She was extremely vigilant in hunting chipmunks and red squirrels in the log piles we got dropped off before we worked to stack them.
Q: What has been the biggest plus side of having an efficient woodstove?
A: Biggest plus side is weaning off of oil heat in a major way. We still have to utilize fuel oil for the house some but we have yet to turn on the furnace this year (that's major!).
Q: What's the downside of a wood stove?
A: The only downside I can think of at the moment is we're still figuring out overnight fires/keeping the house warm overnight. We're new to wood heat, so it's been a learning experience so far but the season is young yet.
