For many musicians, BC has been a real bright spot in a terrible year. And for a specific subset of consumers looking for an a different kind of music platform, it's been a good fit. The steady growth that Bandcamp has experienced reflects this. But...
...Bandcamp isn't for every kind of music listener. No one music service is! The best outcomes for artists and listeners happen when we have lots of different kinds of services able to offer a diverse range of models and tools.
We have to think about the policy and regulatory choices that make that more possible or less possible.
