Watching #Transhood and it’s vibrant, uplifting but also painfully sad. Three of the kids are quite clearly trans, and know their identities, and have done since they were very young. One, Phoenix, unfortunately, clearly has parents who have issues and desperately want their..
..child to be different and part of the LGBT+ community. Forcing a kid to stand up and identify their gender in front of a church congregation, calling them a rainbow child and insisting on them changing their pronouns, when they don’t know what a fucking..
..pronoun is, is so evidently wrong, as clearly plays out as the film goes on. This is why it’s so important to support trans kids, but also to examine the full picture of the family dynamic and wider picture before medical intervention. It’s not as cut and dried as fools..
..like Tucker Carlson would have people believe; that there is a sinister cabal of LGBT activists who are turning kids trans, by waving the magical gender fuck-up wand. The majority of trans kids know exactly who they are. Sadly, though, there are parents who..
..probably shouldn’t have kids, let alone be involved in pushing their agenda onto clearly reluctant children. It’s a film that’s receiving a huge amount of criticism from right-wingers (pushed by Fox and Carlson), who are furious about the “sexualisation” of kids, and can’t..
..separate gender from sex. The ignorance of these people is astonishing. It must be so hard for these kids to be accepted, as is clearly demonstrated by one of the kids, abandoned by his friend when a parent finds out he is trans.
If people think this is about sex or sexuality, they need to actually watch this before opening their pieholes. This isn’t about who’s pissing in which bathroom. This is about supporting kids who are struggling with their entire existence as a person.
Trans people are some of the bravest people I’ve ever come across. I have so much respect for their journeys and their courage. They need support and encouragement to be themselves. Kids, however, also don’t need to be forced into being someone they aren’t.
