Do you want to know why Homosexuality was was considered a mental illness in the DSM back in the day???

It’s because people actually thought that gay men suffered from ‘Gender Identity Disorder’ and the high rates of depression and anxiety was a direct cause of being gay.

But in reality, it was the narrative that gay people “wanted” to be the other gender that made them depressed, suicidal, anxious. Back in the day, heteronormative flourished, people perceived any gender that liked men as women, because only women could like men

And vise versa for women—only a man could like a woman.

Does that make sense? Does that help contextualize the situation?

Transgenderism, however, is a completely separate issue. Transgender is actually ‘Gender Identity Disorder’...it’s actually what they thought *all* gay people suffered from back in the day.

It isn’t necessarily “transgender” that is the mental illness, it’s the body dysphoria, from being in the “wrong” body. But the only way to treat body dysphoria is to counsel that we are all born in the “right” body.

People with eating disorders often suffer from body dysphoria too....but we don’t say “it’s ok, just go ahead and keep doing that” “we understand that you *just* want to be skinny” “we all want to be skinny” “your eating patterns and behavior is completely up to you”....

Every trans person alive has a mental disorder—because every trans person has body dysphoria—otherwise they wouldn’t be trans.

We help trans people by giving them counseling...we need less satanist medical professionals that are just trying to make a quick dollar....they rather sell Transgenderism and make millions, than to be truthful and help trans people, and make little money.
