Wee story; Two teenagers, both unhappy with their bodies, get offered a choice of presents.
One is a big sparkly coloured box containing a big brightly coloured pill that promises to change their bodies, change everything and make them happy. 1/2
The other is a smaller plainly wrapped parcel containing a book about how to learn to accept and love your body as it is and a card to see a counsellor.
One teenager chooses the big sparkly coloured box, the other the plain one. 2/3
They meet a year later. The one who chose the big sparkly box with the bright pill is even more unhappy! Not only has it not helped, but it has made their body worse than it was! 3/4
The other teenager has read the book, gone through counselling, had some really tough times, some really difficult decisions, but has learned to accept their body and to accept who they are. They are now getting on with life. 4/5
The moral of the story is; not everything can be changed, not everything that looks good is good and it is what is inside that counts. Don't judge anything by how it is packaged and advertised.
