We've spent so much time talking about the #Bears structure regarding the team president this week. TBH, there's no actual reason to think that matters.

But, one structure change that could be significant: Give the coach the power.
That's how KC, SF, BUF, NWE, LVR, SEA and WAS all operate. The coach basically runs the show, picking a GM he wants to work with. Both report to ownership/CEO/President.
GM still picks the players, but the head coach has more influence and can trump him. I believe that's also how it's working in Green Bay — they just won't admit it. There were numerous reports of Lafleur being behind the Jordan Love pick.
#Bears almost did this. They checked in on Ron Rivera before ultimately deciding to keep Pace and allow Pace to hire Matt Nagy. But Phillips wanted Rivera to be The Guy, the Panthers wouldn't let him leave.
I probably wouldn't be comfortable with Nagy getting that power at this point, but there might be an arrangement similar to what the Bears had with Lovie and Emery, where they make sure to bring in a GM the coach is comfortable with. Mike Borgonzi would be high on that list...
Like Emery, Borgonzi would have the ability to fire the coach. But, man, so many people seem to like Nagy, it makes me think that wouldn't happen. Whereas Emery was itching to get his guy in there.
