Hello! I'm The Calm 'N Cents.

I've added A LOT of new followers lately so let me tell you a bit about us.

CnC: An Introduction.

// THREAD //
I'm married.

We're 35 and 32.

I met my wife-to-be in 2012.

We were in the same Master's program.

We've been married since 2015.

We live in a small house in a LCOL area.

Having a spouse to build a life with IS a financial and life hack.
Our NW is close to $500,000.

We built it up from $5,000 in 2012 on ONLY 9-to-5 incomes.

And we've only been in our careers since 2014/2015.

6 years of true power saving done right.

Save early. Save often.
We could do this because we're frugal.

In 2013, we moved in together and spent $2,750/month.

In 2020, we've averaged $1,900/month.

Eliminating lifestyle creep WILL turbocharge your savings as you increase income.
Speaking of... we're single income!

I lost my job in September.

Shit happens, but whatever.

Because of our life approach, we're still saving on one income and investing because...
We have NO debt.

Zero!

- No student loans.
- No car payments.
- No mortgage.
- No CC debt.

Nothing since we paid off our small house in 2019.

No one will ever complain about being debt-free.
And as for that life approach, we keep life simple.

We believe there's a genius in simplicity, and we make this the foundation for our life.

Simple investing strategy.
Small house.
Less stuff.
One car.
Win.
Speaking of investments, we invest in Index ETFs.

Our portfolio has grown from $0 to $96,000 in 11 months.

Face it. No one has the time to adequately review individual stocks.

Indexes are the way to go for the DIY market investor.

Get on board with it, and us.
We aspire to less.

These are our goals:

- Sell our current house.
- Go off-the-grid.
- Buy some land.
- Build tiny.
- Travel.
- Retire.

We love tiny houses & van conversions.

We'll likely do both.

I'll be talking about it more too.

Glad to have you aboard.
