This Politico piece captures the GOP attitude to Trump since 2016.

Even if Trump implodes the GOP, winning both seats is still difficult.
But there'd be poetic justice in Trump exploding the Georgia GOP in a fit of rage and handing the Senate to the Democrats on his way out the door.
