This is gonna be a big tweet. Nintendo are being "cancelled" for a multitude of reasons. Here I will cover them all, except for the #FreeMelee or #SaveSmash movement, as I have already covered it in another thread.
This hate train towards Nintendo started during the buildup to Min Min, where fans were getting more ancy over smash and Directs in general. This started the train of Partner Showcases, which technically were directs, all due to the rapid rise of COVID
This didn't sit well with many as people just wanted a plain direct, with some asking for unreasonable demands. This did stagnate three times however, once when Min Min was released, a second when Steve was released and a third when the last partner direct was shown in October.
Besides that, Nintendo have made some questionable choices when it comes to games, with the main drama being Mario 3D All Stars revealed at the Mario 35th Anniversary event.
The games were met with praise, however lambasted by many because they were just ports of 64, Sunshine and Galaxy 1, including the noticeable absence of Galaxy 2. What also got people mad is the fact Mario 3D All Stars will leave shelves and the E-Shop on March 31st, 2021.
People really wanted these games, so it seemed very questionable to remove them at this date. This date has become a meme, as not only is 3D all stars leaving, so are the SMM1 servers, Mario 35 and the translation of the original Fire Emblem
Alot of discourse as also happened between Nintendo fans and people who hate Nintendo, with the fans being called dick suckers, and the haters being called children who can't wait for anything.
While both the movements for and against Nintendo are unknown, you'd have to credit @AboutNintendo for their effort in stopping thespread of negativity, especially some of the misinformation going around in the #FreeMelee movement.
I'll briefly mention free melee here, ignore me at the start. Free Melee is a movement started by the shutdown of the BigHouse Melee tournament for using Slippi, an emulator used for better connectivity. This has now spiraled out of control into misinformation from both sides.
The final thing going against Nintendo is the claiming of several modding videos for SSBU. However, its still up in the air whether it is Nintendo or not, as they dont have any "Nintendo of America" in there claimant name.
In addition, alot of huge YouTubers, like @Alpharad and Aaronmitar (forgot his handle) have been spreading misinformation. The only big person to belive at the moment is Manaklor, who has proven it is Nintendo.
To make a long tweet short, Nintendo have quite alot of things going against them, but some of it is debatebly false.
If you can please spread this information out, I want people to be informed before jumping the gun about any of this.
