A lot of people are misunderstanding Bakugo’s character bcs of this chapter and these panels, thinking that he has a/busive tendency towards children because how he was raised, but ignoring the context the WHOLE chapter and arc.
1. He’s shown to be careful towards children since the beginning of the chapter (there’s mistranslation and Shouto was so OOC in the eng scan so I did one myself)
2. Right after Bakugo said things about hitting the boss kid with rock, it was immediately clarified that it was a gag.

Horikoshi used Present Mic dialogue to say that it was just a 余興=“entertainment” as in a gag panel. Not to be used to determined his character
3. A lot of Asian household including JP use “tough love” approach to discipline their children. You can go to asian countries and I challenge you to try and find ppl that’s never been “toughly” disciplined by their parents. I wish you luck.
Is it the best way to discipline your children? 100% NO

Does ALL the asian children that’s received “tough love” by their parents = coming from an abusive family?
Maybe some, but NOT all

And for Bakugo’s case, he’s been saying the way he was raised worked for HIM.
If you’re not raised in Asian household, please refrain from “forcing” your view on asians by saying smthg like: “if you ever got hit by your parents (for disciplinary purpose) = you have a/busive parents”

That’s SO disrespectful to both the children and the parents.
4. Anyway, since Shouto was abused, he was not comfortable with rough way of doing things, and Bakugo DIDN’T PUSH HIS VIEW to Shouto

What worked for 1 person might not work for the other, and Bakugo is open to see ways that are different from his own
5. He was the one that gave idea for the live demonstration. Implying he didn’t have intention to use violence towards the children anyway.
6. And last but not least: these panels showed his way of thinking.

So I hope people don’t use this arc and chapter out of context to fit their narrative of:

“abused Bakugo, trying to abuse children” anymore. It’s kind of ignorant and taken way out of context
TLDR: the panels of Bakugo saying things about throwing rock to the boss kid was EXPLICITLY explained as a filler gag and not to be used to determine his character. If you don’t find it funny, then it’s just the matter of difference in humor taste with Horikoshi
