Boko Haram have hidden from Nigerian forces in tribal areas of Lake Chad islands. Everyone knows that Boko Haram and other groups train, raise money, plan operations and even recruit in the tribal areas

of Lake Chad. Boko Haram leadership move men and material into Nigeria and attack Nigerian forces and assets, where Nigerian forces cant follow, at least not in the ground. The U.S since 2016 flies the Predator and Reaper drones over these tribal districts and refuse to strike

them. They have flown countless missions over Nigeria. These missions are conducted without the approval from Abuja. The NAF F-7Ni fighters often fly right up to the Nigerian border but couldnt cross it. We have to understand that this area is outside of the weapons grasp

of an aircraft flying on the border. Sheer distance degrades certain aspects of our ability to strike that deep. If paradventure they do chase after them they will likely not have enough fuel to make it back to Maiduguri.

The Wing Loong II and CH-4 armed attack drones solves that problem. At high altitude it blends with the sky and quiet enough not to be heard in the ground. From bases in Kaniji or Maiduguri they can fly over a location of interest deep outside Nigerian territory in Lake Chad.

You gotta realize that for the first time ever it doesn't matter if Boko Haram is hiding outside Nigerian territory in the fringes of the border area. Nigeria can send these drones humming over the horizon into Chad or Niger and take out confirms high profile targets.
