I'm attending this today for #WakeUpIrishPoetry to ask about what measures are being planned to address the serious issues with sexual misconduct & harassment in the Irish arts. Without safe environments, measures on gender equality and diversity can't succeed. https://twitter.com/CEDCultureIE/status/1332299248361234432
So far all but mine and one other of the audience questions have been answered. There were only 5. But the moderator has just said that there are loads of questions waiting and has as a result asked the panel her own question. Time is almost up.
Panellists are talking about calling out representations of rape in film but not talking about actual rape and sexual harassment in the arts.
Now my question is addressed. The answer is yes. ITI will do a sector wide second phase of Speak Up. This was not my understanding to date.
Apparently also a sector-wide survey. Again my first time hearing this despite asking the AC to keep us informed and bring assured that they would.

Look, if this happens I'll be very happy. But I remain very disappointed at the lack of communication and follow-up from the AC. We met almost a year ago. It was and is hard and career ending to be raising these issues.
